International Financial Progam Board

International Financial Progam Board

The International Financial Program (IFP) is one of Groningen’s most prestigious student consultancy projects, offering tailor-made desk and field research for companies with international ambitions. Each year, 20 highly motivated bachelor’s and master’s students from the Faculty of Economics and Business conduct four months of research in the Netherlands, followed by two and a half weeks of field research abroad and an additional two and a half weeks of travel. As a board, you will play a decisive role in shaping the programme — including the choice of destination. In 2025, the focus will be on Malaysia, one of the fastest-growing economies worldwide.

As a board member, you will guide and support the 20 participants throughout the year, acquire companies with the help of professional acquisition training, and represent IFP to external partners and sponsors. You will also oversee the organisation of the research process, ensuring both academic excellence and practical relevance.

A board year at IFP is a unique opportunity to develop yourself on both a professional and personal level. You will gain invaluable experience in leadership, consultancy, sales, and organisation, while expanding your international network. Beyond the professional dimension, there are also informal activities to strengthen the group dynamic: monthly social drinks, a participants’ weekend, and even 2.5 weeks of travel following the field research abroad. These experiences ensure strong connections within the team and create memories that last a lifetime.

Above all, you will contribute directly to the continued success of a project that has been delivering high-quality research to companies worldwide for over 20 years.
