  1. Use of Terms and Conditions

Financial Study Association Groningen is the study association for the financially interested student at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Groningen. For further usage in this document referred to as “FSG”. You can find FSG at Nettelbosje 2, 9747 AE Groningen. Phone number: +31 (0) 50 363 7306. E-mail: board@fsgroningen.nl. In this terms and conditions, “we”, “our” and “us” refers to FSG "you" refers to the candidate-FSG Member or FSG Member. Becoming a member means your acceptance of these terms and conditions, as may be amended from time to time. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not become an FSG Member and do not make use of the platforms that FSG offers. We reserve the right, at any time, to modify, alter or update these Terms and Conditions of use, and you agree to be bound by such modifications, alterations or updates.

  1. Information

The information that FSG communicates has been compiled by FSG from internal and external sources. No representation or warranty is given as to the completeness or accuracy of such information. The candidate-FSG Member or FSG Member guarantees that all information he/she gives at the website, by mail, or by any other platform is accurate and true. All personal information is stored at one place only which is only accessible by the FSG Board. Only personal information that is critical to the functioning of committees is also stored at another location which is available for the specific committee. It is always stated which information will be shared. We reserve the right to update personal information in our database as new information becomes available.

  1. Membership

Membership is open for all financial interested students who study at the University of Groningen. Your membership is personal and cannot be transferred to another person. The membership runs from the 1st of September till the 31st of July. For this, the membership fee is collected after the end of the academic year (in June or July). Unsubscribing after September means that you still will receive a debt collection after the end of the academic year. The membership is automatically renewed at the start of each new academic year. The period of renewal will be one entire academic year. If you want to terminate your membership, you can do this by filling in this form or by sending an e-mail to secretary@fsgroningen.nl. FSG has the right to terminate membership for any reason, at any time. The termination will be communicated and the member can appeal the termination at the next General Members Meeting. As a member you agree that FSG is allowed to send e-mails, messages over phone and letters with information of own events or information from our partners, including the Financiële Associatie Nederland (FAN). To become an FSG Member, you also need to be an EBF member. If you become an FSG Member, you agree that you are or will become a EBF member in that academic year. After you graduate you have to opportunity to become an FSG Alumni. By attending FSG Alumni Events, you agree that you are or automatically become an FSG Alumni.

  1. FSG Events

In general, FSG Events can be attended by FSG Members only. If an event is open for non-FSG Members this is explicitly stated at the webpage of the event. At these events, FSG has the right to ask FSG Members a lower price. The registration fee of an event is non-refundable when the participant cancels his/her own registration. If an event is cancelled by the board beyond FSG's control, FSG is not liable for any costs. If the cancellation is within FSG's control, the registration fee is refundable. FSG has the right to cancel an event for any reason, at any time. FSG is not liable for any damages occurring during any of our events.

  1. Cancellation Policy

5.1 The FSG applies a penalty policy for all events.
5.1.1 By signing up for an event, you agree to this penalty policy and commit to participation.
5.1.2 The FSG determines whether you have met the criteria that apply to this penalty policy. If so, you agree to pay the resulting penalty fee.
5.1.3 The penalty policy applies to all activities of the FSG.
5.1.4 The penalty policy works as follows:
● 5.1.4.1 In case of cancellation at least four working days before the event, you will not be fined. Note: only cancellations made before 17:00 are accepted.
● 5.1.4.2 In case of cancellation less than four working days before the start of the event, you will be charged a fine of €25.00.
● 5.1.4.3 In case of a no-show without cancellation, you will be charged a fine of €50.00.
● 5.1.4.4 Cancellation is only possible by sending an email to the address used in correspondence for that specific event, with the subject: “Cancellation Activity X.”
5.1.5 By agreeing to this penalty policy, you authorize the FSG to automatically withdraw the penalty fine from the bank account you provided on the application form.

5.2 The FSG applies a banlist policy for all events.
5.2.1 By signing up for an event, you agree to this banlist policy and commit to participation.
5.2.2 The FSG determines whether you have met the criteria that apply to this banlist policy.
5.2.3 The banlist policy applies to all activities of the FSG.
5.2.4 The banlist policy works as follows:
● 5.2.4.1 In case of cancellation at least four working days before the event, you will not be placed on the banlist. Note: only cancellations made before 17:00 are accepted.
● 5.2.4.2 In case of cancellation less than four working days before the start of the event, you will be placed on the banlist.
● 5.2.4.3 In case of a no-show without cancellation, you will be placed on the banlist.
● 5.2.4.4 Cancellation is only possible by sending an email to the address used in correspondence for that specific event, with the subject: “Cancellation Activity X.”
5.2.5 The consequences of the banlist are:
● 5.2.5.1 Transmission of your personal details to the participating companies, with a statement explaining the reason for the late cancellation.
● 5.2.5.2 The FSG cannot guarantee the impact that transmission of personal details due to the banlist arrangement might have on a potential application procedure at the participating companies of this event.

5.3 There is no opportunity to discuss the amount of the fine, whether or not the fine will be withdrawn, or whether or not a student will be placed on the banlist.
5.4 Transmission of your personal details to the participating companies will include a statement explaining the reason for the late cancellation of your participation.
5.5 The FSG cannot be held responsible for the consequences that the aforementioned actions might have on a potential application procedure at the participating companies.
5.6 In case of unforeseen circumstances resulting in absence from the activity, you should contact the FSG within 7 days from the day of your activity.

  1. Website

The content on the FSG Website has been compiled by FSG from internal and external sources. No representation or warranty is given as to the completeness or accuracy of such information. FSG makes no representation whatsoever regarding the content of any other websites which you may access from the FSG Website. Certain parts of the website are filled with content provided by our partners, for which we take no responsibility. When you access any other website than the FSG Website, please understand that it is independent from FSG and that FSG has no control over the content of that website. A link to any other website does not mean that FSG endorses or accepts any responsibility for the content or use of such website. FSG regularly checks the content of the website for accuracy.

  1. Intellectual Property

FSG holds the rights and qualifications according to the Dutch copyright law and other intellectual law and regulations. All materials, including illustrations, photographs, products, images, designs, texts, graphics, logos, button icons, and images appearing on this Website are owned or controlled by FSG. If you wish to use any of these properties, please contact the FSG Board at board@fsgroningen.nl.

  1. Privacy Policy

This policy applies to all personal data of candidate-FSG Members and FSG Members collected by FSG. This data includes, names, language, date of birth, email address, phone number, address, student number, bachelor degree, start date of study, master degrees, IBAN number and BIC number. Only the FSG Board has access to this information unless stated otherwise. FSG Members accept that photos taken at events featuring the FSG Member can be used for promotional purposes. In case you want to remove these pictures of yourself, you can contact the FSG Board. The personal and non-personal data we receive of candidate-FSG Members and FSG Members is treated as confidential. The personal data will never be given to a third party without the consent of the FSG Member. We may, however, share the non-personally identifiable information with certain third parties to help us analyse the use of our information channels, such as the FSG Website, e-mails and social media.
For events with a selection procedure, anonymous resumes of applicants are shared with the participating companies. Moreover, for some events this also includes a motivation letter and grade list. The resume, head shot, name, e-mail and study of selected participants are shared with the participating companies. FSG takes no responsibility for the actions of these companies regarding the information shared. Moreover, the committees organising these events also have access to this information. Two weeks after the event is done, the committee member will no longer have access to this information. Personal information of applicants and participants from previous editions is not available to committee members.
Personal information which includes student numbers, IBAN numbers and email addresses of FSG Members can be shared with the EBF to ensure FSG Members are students at the University of Groningen and are EBF member as required under section 3. Next to this, certain third parties manage the content of the FSG Website. The EBF and other third parties share our commitment to the protection of your privacy. In special cases data is shared with third parties, for example to act in order to comply with any requests from law enforcement, government agencies, or organizations that are part of the University of Groningen. For the optimal design of the website FSG uses cookies. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s hard drive. We may use the cookies to improve your FSG Website experience. In case you wish to view or change personal information, this can be done partly though the website. Otherwise, you can contact the FSG Board by sending an email to board@fsgroningen.nl. If you would like to have information removed that is critical to being an FSG Member, you membership will be terminated. Some information is needed to collect the membership fee, this information can only be deleted after the collection of the membership fee.
In collaboration with the University of Groningen, FSG aims to guarantee the security of personal information. In case of any extreme data leakages the FSG Board will contact the privacy security authorities within 72 hours conform to the law and the people involved will be contacted.
