Your job

When apply for a position in the Netherlands, you will be based in Amsterdam. In the first weeks of this international programme, all graduates attend the Global Talent Programme training in Amsterdam. During these weeks, you will get to know the ins and outs of the financial markets and the Clearing business in particular. Besides, working on your personal development is a key component of the programme and industry experts, professional trainers and ABN AMRO Clearing managers facilitate the different sessions. Together they will give you a solid basis for your future role within Clearing. You will be part of an international group of graduates allowing you to build a global network. Therefore you will have a great start to your ABN AMRO Clearing career!

During the 12-month programme, we offer you three business rotations. You take full responsibility for your own assignments. For instance, you could be working on product or service improvements or you may be involved in developing a new risk model. Included in the programme are 2 rotations in your ‘home’ country – the office where you applied - and 1 rotation abroad to gain international working experience. How does Singapore, Sydney, Brazil, Chicago or London sound? During your rotations, you get to know different parts of the organisation and branch out into the fields of Commerce, Operations, Finance or Risk; broadening your knowledge base and network. After successfully finishing the programme, you will be ready to start in you first role at ABN AMRO Clearing.

Your working environment

In banking, Clearing denotes all activities from the time a commitment (buy or sell) is made for a transaction until it is settled. ABN AMRO Clearing acts as an intermediary between clients and the exchanges these clients trade on. We become the buyer to the seller and seller to the buyer taking over the risk to reconcile orders between the parties in the transaction. We process around 18 million transactions a day for professional traders, investment managers and large corporates. Because our clients are highly demanding and the market environment fluctuates, you are guaranteed to learn a lot in a short period of time. Your profile

You are attracted to global financial markets, you are highly analytical and you embrace technological developments. You have the ability to bring colleagues from different backgrounds, expertise and cultures together in order to optimally serve our clients. The continuously changing environment in which regulations and sustainability play an important role and therefore you are required to have an adaptive mindset. You are curious by nature, drawn to continuous improvement and innovations. Of course, you are result driven, have an inquisitive mind and you enjoy learning new things in an international environment.

Who are you:

  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit, creative mind-set and you are capable of assessing and evaluating risks.

  • You have knowledge of or at least (demonstrated) interest in technology and how this supports business improvements.

  • You thrive in an international context.

  • You think in terms possibilities, see opportunities and take a solutions-oriented approach.

  • You are a self-starter who readily assumes responsibility.

What is your experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably followed by a Master’s degree (not necessarily in Finance)

  • No more than 2 years of work experience

  • Relevant extracurricular activities and/or experience abroad

  • Affinity with the financial sector and markets as well as new technologies.

  • Experience with data and/or programming/IT development skills are a plus

What we offer

Under the Dutch CLA we offer you:

  • A monthly salary of between €3.123 - €4.461 per month based on a 36-to 40 hour work week. Classification based on knowledge, experience and equal pay

  • Fixed contract after successfully completing the 12-month Talent Programme

  • An additional personal development budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can freely use

  • In addition, ABN AMRO Clearing offers you extensive training curriculum that allows you to increase your knowledge of our business, deepen your understanding of financial markets and products, and further develop your personal skills. You will also be working together with your fellow international Talents (Graduates) throughout the programme.
