Sustainability
Sustainable development goals
In 2015, the United Nations introduced 17 Sustainable Development Goals with the aim of making progress by 2030 in areas such as poverty, inequality, climate change, prosperity, environmental degradation, justice, and peace. The Sustainable Development Goals address challenges that are very relevant today, such as economic inclusion, geopolitical instability, and the impacts of climate change. Within the private sector, there is increasing attention to the SDGs, primarily focusing on finding new ways of doing business that combine economic growth with positive ecological and social impact.
At FSG, we also pay attention to the SDGs in our daily operations. We strive to implement as many SDGs as possible in our activities. In this way, we aim to make a positive impact on current social and ecological challenges. We focus mainly on the SDGs where we can have the most impact, incorporating them into our daily policies.
We mainly contribute to the following SDGs: Good Health and Well-being (goal 3), Quality Education (4), Gender Equality (5), Affordable and Clean energy (7), Decent work and Economic growth (8), Industry Innovation and Infrastructure (9), Reduced Inequalities (10), Responsible Consumption and Production (12) and Climate Action (13).
SDG 3 Good health and well-being
FSG places great importance on the mental well-being of its members. The FSG board maintains a close relationship with its active members. To support its members, FSG has appointed two confidential advisors who are available for one-on-one meetings. In this way we want to make sure that everybody feels free to come to our internal confidential officer and/or our external confidential officer. FSG promotes these Confidential Advisors on the FSG website. Additionally, the FSG Board 2024-2025 is planning to organise a new activity focused on encouraging studying during exam periods. Therefore, the FSG Board 2024-2025 intends to organise Lunch & Learn days for its members in the period leading up to the exams. This event motivates members to study together in a room provided by the FSG Board 2024-2025. By organising an informal lunch during the day, students get the chance to connect with each other while taking a study break.SDG 4 Quality education
